Agency Trains Graduates On Online Business Outsourcing
The National Information
Technology Development Agency (NITDA), says it has repositioned to train more unemployed Nigerians to be able to compete with others globally.
Dr Vincent Olatunji, Ag. Director-General of the agency, stated this in Abuja on Tuesday at a training organised for unemployed graduates from the six geo-political zones of the country.
He said the agency had trained 50 unemployed graduates in Online Business Process Outsourcing.
“The training is to reduce the level of unemployment in the country and chart a new course for economic diversification.’’
Vincent added that Online Business Process Outsourcing “is jobs online anybody can get and do from any location via computer or a smart phone with internet connection.
“Online outsourcing pilot is aimed at practical testing of this relatively new industry from various perspectives.’’
He said the platform would assess the willingness of high school graduates and female homemakers to do lower tasks such as data entry, digitisation, image rendering, among others.
He added that the scope of the project was to create 300 jobs and provide insights on the long term interest and sustainability of workers or businesses in online outsourcing.
Vincent said it was to help the pilot workers to win and perform actual jobs on international online outsourcing platforms.
“I am excited to declare this training open; this is the second in less than two weeks after the training for People with Disabilities.
“What we are doing is to affect the lives of Nigerians irrespective of status, positively.
“ We are to develop a global competitive human capital with the aim of equipping them with training to make them globally employable.
