Abe Takes Campaign To More Communities

Ahead of Saturday’s General Elections across Nigeria, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for Rivers South-East Senatorial District, Senator Magnus Abe has taken his re-election campaign to more communities in the area.
This is as he gets the endorsement of 28 more groups consisting of chiefs, elders, women, youth and professional organizations bringing to 38 socio-political groups in the Rivers South-East backing his re-election to the Senate.
Abe, who is presently the chairman, Senate Committee on Petroleum (Downstream), visited communities in Khana, Eleme, Andoni, Oyigbo, Gokana, Tai and Opobo/Nkoro, where he was described as “a worthy representative of the people”.
Prominent among the groups were the Obolo Consultative Forum (OCR), Ogoni Generation Next Project (OGNP), Ogoni Democratic Movement (ODM) and Rivers Progressives Alliance (RPA).
Others include; Indigenes Without Borders (IWB), ‘O’ela Obor Eleme (OOE), Opobo Democratic Movement (ODM), Oyigbo Democratic Forum (ODF), Ijaw Justice Forum (IJF), Tai Project Forum (TPF) and the Ogoni Youth Development Initiatives (OYDI).
The organizations in separate solidarity messages said they were impressed by the numerous achievements of Senator Abe in his first tenure, arguing that the people will re-elect him to effect more developments in the senatorial district.
They listed Abe’s scholarship scheme for indigent students, skill acquisition programmes, electrification projects and payment of electricity bills for several communities in the district as some of his achievements.
The groups also identified provision of water in rural communities, empowerment of women in the district, health support scheme, provision of transformers, financial support to traders, and students, among others, as footprints of his first tenure.
“We are proud to say that the people of Rivers South-East now have a Senator, Charismatic leader and voice, Abe is a man of peace, detribalized and a philanthropist whose acceptability cuts across party lines”, they stressed.
The groups noted with joy the role Abe played during the screening of Kenneth Kobani by the Senate for ministerial appointment, saying the action was a manifestation of the senator’s love for not only his people but the Rivers South-East; emphasizing that through him, the people now feel the impact of representation at the upper chambers of the National Assembly.
Describing the elections of March 28, 2015 as an opportunity of cementing the support for Abe, the organizations said “you will be overwhelmingly voted because you have done well; you don’t have opposition and Rivers South-East seat is not vacant”.
Responding, Senator Abe thanked them for acknowledging his efforts, assuring that more will be achieved if re-elected, enlisting the groups to vote massively for the APC in the general elections.
He urged them not to be cowed by plans of the opposition centred on harassing, intimidating and creating fear among the electorate.
 emphasizing that the forthcoming elections will define development in Nigeria.

HoS Hails Fubara Over Provision of Accommodation for Permanent Secretaries

The Head of Service (HoS) of Rivers State, Dr. Mrs. Inyingi S. I. Brown, has commended Governor Sir Siminalayi Fubara, GSSRS, for approving befitting accommodation for Permanent Secretaries in the state.
This commendation was contained in a press release made available to newsmen in Port Harcourt.
According to the Head of Service, Governor Fubara has continued to demonstrate uncommon commitment to the welfare of civil servants in Rivers State, stressing that such gestures underscore his people-oriented leadership style. She urged civil servants across the state to remain supportive of the governor’s administration in order to sustain good governance and effective public service delivery.
Speaking on behalf of the Body of Permanent Secretaries, Dr. Brown congratulated Governor Fubara on the occasion of his 51st birthday, describing him as “a Governor who leads by serving.”
She further praised the governor’s service-driven and people-centred leadership approach, noting that it has significantly contributed to institutional stability and improved efficiency within the state’s public service. Special appreciation was expressed for the approval of a befitting accommodation complex for Permanent Secretaries, which she said reflects the governor’s commitment to staff welfare and enhanced productivity.
As part of activities to mark the governor’s birthday, the Body of Permanent Secretaries announced the sponsorship of 329 Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) forms for indigent students across the state.
A breakdown of the initiative shows that 319 forms will be distributed across the 319 political wards in Rivers State, while five forms are allocated to non-indigenes and five forms to persons living with disabilities.

The Body of Permanent Secretaries wished Governor Fubara continued good health, divine wisdom, and greater accomplishments in his service to the people of Rivers State.

Allegation of Disrespect to President Tinubu Unfounded — Rivers Government
