‘Amaechi’s Resilience Foiled Dame Jonathan’s Plot To Rule Rivers’
The Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Hon. Oji Ngofa, has alleged that Dame Patience Jonathan, was keen to take over the administration of Rivers State and rule it from Abuja, the nation’s capital.
Ngofa, however said, the strong will displayed by Governor Chibuike Amaech forestalled the plot from becoming a reality.
The APC chieftain spoke on Saturday in Port Harcourt, Rivers State capital, while giving insight on how the role of the First Lady truncated the existing peace in Rivers State.
Ngofa, who was the past Executive Chairman of Eleme Local Government in Rivers State and currently the caretaker committee chairman of the council, said the greatest thing that had happened to Rivers people was the resistance of the onslaught by Mrs. Jonathan.
According to him, the First Lady’s plan was to take over Rivers and to run the state as a private company where Governor Amaechi would have little or no say in the governance and management of the state and its resources.
He argued that the contentious Chief Judge of the state, issue, the impeachment saga and other issues rocking the state would have been easy to achieve if the governor had been caught off guard.
“I have said it before and I am repeating it again, the people of Rivers State should thank God that Governor Amaechi resisted Jonathan’s wife from executing her plan”, the chieftain stated.
“We have a president’s wife that does not understand her role in the politics of Rivers State.
“It is her misunderstanding of her role as wife of the president that led to the dislocation in the politics of Rivers State today”, Ngofa added.
