Ahmed, in a statement issued by his Press Secretary, Oba Abdulwahab, expressed shock over the former governor’s death. Ahmed said with Attah’s death, Nigeria has lost the wisdom of an elder statesman.
The governor said, “I also commiserate with the government and people of Kogi State over the lost of this illustrious son who contributed immensely to building a strong nation where equity and justice will reign.”
Saraki in a condolence message signed by his media aide, Bankole Omisore, described Attah as a statesman of repute and a stakeholder in the Nigeria project, whose records and antecedent are clear in the history of Kwara and Nigerian politics.
“Though gone, the impact of Alhaji Adamu Attah cannot be under estimated in Kwara politics and apparently, his role and contributions in the administration of Kwara State. His departure is painful, but the fact that his wealth of wisdom in the history of Kwara State administration will be missed and it is more painful. I commiserate with immediate family of Alhaji Attah, the people of Kogi State and most especially the Executive Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Idris Wada, the Kwara State and Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed, and the entire people of Kwara State and Nigeria as a whole for losing one of our illustrious sons.
