RSUST VC Rewards Hardworking Students With Palm Tops
The Vice Chancellor of the Rivers State University of Science and Technology (RSUST), Prof. Barineme Fakae, has donated seven palm- top computers to the seven first year students who made outstanding results in the 2012/2013 academic session.
He made the donation last Wednesday at the 32nd matriculation ceremony of the institution.
Fakae said that the palmtop donation was to encourage students on the need to be hardworking as regards their academics.
The Tide, also learnt that part of the reason for the computer gift was to keep alive his determination to make the school totally IT compliance.
The seven students were drawn from the seven faculties of Agriculture, Engineering, Environmental Sciences and Technical and Science Education.
The RSUST VC, charged the students to always be of good behavior both outside and within the school premises, as to uphold the good image of the school.
It was further gathered that most students of the institution, now long for IT programmes that would be organised by the school’s management as to allow them benefit from the IT development of the school.
Meanwhile, the beneficiaries of the VC’s initiatives, have lauded him for his kind gesture and promised to work harder as to attract more prizes to the school.
