ELGA Councillors Pass Vote Of Confidence On Chiarman
The Legislative arm of Etche Local Government Council has passed a vote of confidence on the chairman of the council, Barrister Reginald Ukwuoma on what they described as his unprecedented developmental strides in the area.
The leader of the legislative arm, Hon. Harry Nwekwe, in an interview with The Tide, Wednesday, in Port Harcourt said, the reason for passing the vote of confidence on the council boss was to encourage him on the good work he is doing in the area.
Hon. Nwekwe listed some of the projects to include grading of community roads, construction of Eketa market, completion of Akwa Ultra-Modern Market, electrification of Igbodo community, as well as furnishing of the council secretariat.
The leader of the house further disclosed that the chairman has procured over eight mass transit buses as a way of cushioning the transportation challenges facing the people as well as procurement of two vehicles to boost the operations of security operatives in the area.
According to him, “because of the cordial relationship existing between the executive and legislative arm,” the council boss, said he has provided water projects across the 19 wards through the councils in the area.
He described the project as very monumental, noting that the local government area has not witnessed such developmental transformation in the past.
He urged the council boss not to be deterred by the activities of the opposition politicians in his quest to transform the area for better.
The leader assured the council boss of the councilors unalloyed support to enable him deliver the dividends of democracy to the people of Etche.
In his response, the chairman of Etche Local Government Area, Barrister Reginald Ukwuoma lauded the councillors for their confidence in his administration, adding that such encouragement would trigger him to deliver on his mandate despite the growing spate of opposition in the area.
The council boss promised that he would continue to run an independent administration whereby the executive arm would not interfere in the affairs of the legislative, and assured that the gesture would make him do more for the people.
