FAAN Creates Three New Directorates
The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has
announced the creation of three new directorates as part of its restructuring
programme.
The statement by FAAN’s General Manager, Public Affairs, Mr
Akin Olukunle, in Ikeja said that a directorate was also collapsed into a
department.
The statement said that the restructuring brought the number
of directorates in the parastatal agency to nine.
“The erstwhile directorate of environment has been collapsed
into a department and will be headed by a general manager.
“The general manager will be under the directorate of
Airport Operations, while the three new directorates are Projects, Legal
Services and Cargo Development,” the statement said.
It said that the nine directorates included “Airport
Operations to be headed by Mr Henry Omeogu, Finance and Accounts headed by Mr
Austin Tadafera, and Human Resources and Administration, headed by Hajia
Salamatu Umar-Eluma.
Other departments are: “Legal Services headed by Mr Mark
Jacobs, Commercial and Business Development, headed by Dr Adeniyi Balogun,
Maintenance and Engineering, headed by Mr Olufemi Ogunode and Projects headed
by Mr Saleh Dunoma.
“Others are Security Services headed by Sir Wendell Ogunedo
and Cargo Development headed by Mr Uche Ofulue.”
The statement said that the structure reflected a modern
airport company’s administrative structure, adding that the restructuring would
focus the organisation toward executing its strategic objectives.
“For instance, for the next four to five years, FAAN will be
executing an unprecedented Capex programme, building massive new infrastructure
across the network of airports.
“This calls for the full focus of a Projects division. In
the same vein, we are building massive cargo infrastructure in line with our
strategy to develop the cargo business,” it stated.
The statement also announced the splitting of the public
affairs department into two, namely, Corporate Communications and Protocol and
Passages.
It said Mr Yakubu Datti was now General Manager, Corporate
Communications, while erstwhile General Manager, Public Affairs, Mr Akin
Olukunle, would become the General Manager, Protocol and Passages.
