Sharks FC In Road Accident
Sharks FC was involved in an autocrash yesterday on their way to Kaduna to honour their mid-week Nigeria Premier League week 36 fixture against Kaduna United.
The accident happened along the Abuja expressway at Auchi in Edo State, where members of the Nigeria Police Force where on hand to rescue the players.
The media officer of Sharks FC disclosed that the accident occurred after a commercial motorcyclist suddenly ran across the road from nowhere.
Apart from the female passenger on the motorcycle who was seriously injured, no member of the Sharks team was reported to have suffered a similar fate, except for some minor injuries that were inflicted on some players when the windscreen shattered.
On whether this may result in a suspension of today’s match between Sharks and Kaduna United, the Head of Media/Publicity at the NPL, Mr Emman Njoku, when contacted, said that he had not been briefed of the incident officially, and that if Sharks made a report which is verifiable, the game could be suspended.
