Bizman Tasks Youths On Hardwork
Youths in Rivers State have been advised to be law-abiding,
focused and hardworking in order to properly position themselves for future
challenges in the country.
They have also been urged to shun acts of violence capable
of derailing the governance of the state.
A Port Harcourt-based businessman, Sir Charles Wami who gave
the advice when members of the Association of Unemployed Graduates (AUG) paid
him a courtesy call in his office in Port Harcourt reminded them that the era
when half-baked graduates were employed in government organisations and
companies was over.
According to Wami, the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer
of Charkin Maritime and Offshore Training Centre, who was presented with an
award of excellence by the association, the country now needs qualified
manpower to actualise the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) of the Federal
Government.
Wami who expressed his organisation’s commitment to
improving safety standards in the petroleum and maritime sectors of the
nation’s economy, thanked the association for the honour done him.
Speaking, the President-General of the association, Comrade
Mene Dum-Fubara commended Sir Wami for his efforts in the area of employment
and empowerment of youths.
He appealed to the federal and state governments to partner
with the private sector in the training and empowerment of youths and enjoined
Sir Wami not to relent in his efforts at developing the youths.
