RSG To Build 28 Injection Sub-Stations
Rivers State Government has re-assured the people of the State of its desire to fulfil its promise of providing adequate electricity to the entire State before the end of its tenure.
The Commissioner for Power, Hon. Augustine Wokocha, gave the assurance while meeting with chiefs, elders, youths, women and opinion leaders of communities whose lands would be acquired for the construction of the 33/11/KV Injection Sub-Stations and Rows for transmission lines.
He reiterated that government is committed to providing a stable and an affordable electricity supply in the state.
Hon. Wokocha advised communities against unnecessary interruptions that would impede the course of work of the surveyors and valuers stating the resolve of government in completing its project in record time.
In his contribution, the Surveyor General of the State, represented by Mr. Iroanwusi Nwenike, advised the communities to co-operate with the surveyors and valuers to enable them carry out proper work that would be beneficial to both the government and the communities.
Speaking on behalf of the communities, Chief Nyeche Amadi Wike of Rumuepirikom, thanked the government for hosting the stakeholders and promised to sensitise his people on the good intentions of government.
Also speaking, Mrs. Beatrice Nwaghara of Okoloma-Afam, Ndoki appreciated the open door policy of Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi and urged all stakeholders to dialogue instead of the usual authoritative method of sidelining the communities thereby creating disaffection.
