A retired Permanent Secretary in the Rivers State civil service, Mr Loveday Imeah, has called on the Rivers state Commissioner of Police, Suleiman Abba to arrest and prosecute a killer-gang in Kono Boue in Khana Local Government Area of the State for allegedly killing late Dinee Doobe on December 10, 2011.
In a three page petition signed by Mr Loveday Imeah, he alleged that the late Dinee was hacked to death by the killer gang in broad day light at Kono Boue while on a condolence visit with his spouse to his mother in-law.
The petitioner stated that the incident was reported to Bori Divisional Police Command in Khana local government area and the police came to Kono Boue for investigation, but the culprits evaded arrest, while the police were able to recover some weapons used in the act.
Widow of the diseased, Mrs Waabori Dinee, a nursing mother who spoke with The Tide, said her late husband was dragged in her presence and hacked to death with sharp instruments.
When contacted, the Police Public Relations officer, Rivers State Command, Ben Ugwegbulam said the Rivers State Police headquarters was awaiting signal from the Bori divisional Police Command to carry out further investigation in the matter.
