Emir Of Katsina Pledges Loyalty To Jonathan
The Emir of Katsina, Alhaji Abdulmumini Kabir, said his Emirate in Council and the people of Katsina would remain loyal to President Goodluck Jonathan as he manages the nation’s affairs.
The Emir said this in Katsina on Saturday when the President paid a condolence visit to him in his Palace in Katsina.
He said the death of President Umaru Yar’Adua was a great loss to the emirate, the people of Katsina State, Nigeria and Africa in general, but added that the people were comforted by “the Almighty Allah who gives and takes life”.
The emir advised Jonathan to carry everybody along in the discharge of his responsibilities.
Kabir specifically advised the president to concentrate on poverty eradication, creation of employment opportunities, food security and power supply in order to move the nation forward.
The emir congratulated Jonathan on his ascension to the office of the President of Nigeria and thanked him for the visit.
Earlier in his remark, Jonathan told the emir that he enjoyed working with the late Yar’Adua right from the days when both of them were governors to time of his death.
He promised to continue from where the late president stopped, saying that he would operate an open-door policy in order to carry everybody along.
Jonathan prayed for the repose of the soul of the late Yar’Adua and for his family, the entire people of Katsina and Nigeria, the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
