NSYJ Urges Prayers For President
The South South zonal coordinator of the National Support for Yar’Adua / Goodluck Presidency, Dr Enoch Onyeche has urged their supporters in the zone and members of the organisation to pray for the speedy recovery of the president.
Dr Onyeche who made the appeal in a statement made available to newsmen in Port Harcourt said that present condition of health of the president calls for continuous prayers by his supporters across the zone. He said that the nation is currently passing through a difficult phase in her political history, noting that this situation has underscored the need for massive support to the president.
Dr Onyeche however expressed the hope that the president would return to the country in no distant time to continue with his good work as with God nothing is impossible. The group president also thanked Nigerians for their wisdom and understanding in this trying moment and called for it to be sustained.
Dr Onyeche used the occasion to pray for God’s guidance and inspirations to the six governors of the zone and urged for continuous support to them.
He used the occasion to pray for prosperous new year for the teeming supporters of the president in the zone.

RSG INAUGURATES ARMED FORCES REMEMBRANCE DAY COMMITTEE
The Rivers State Government has inaugurated a Central Planning Committee to organize the celebration of the 2026 Armed Forces Remembrance Day (AFRD) in the State.
The committee was formally inaugurated by the Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Benibo Anabraba in Port Harcourt, last Thursday.
Dr Anabraba who also serves as Chairman of the Committee
highlighted the State Government’s deep appreciation for the sacrifices of Nigeria’s fallen heroes who laid down their lives for the nation’s peace and unity.
“These heroes have given their lives for the security and peace of our nation and deserve to be celebrated. The Armed Forces Remembrance Day is an opportunity to show our gratitude for their sacrifice,” he said.
Dr. Anabraba further extended recognition to all Security Agencies in the State, emphasizing the importance of the event in appreciating their contributions to national security and sovereignty.
The annual Armed Forces Remembrance Day, observed on January 15 across the country is dedicated to remember Nigeria’s departed soldiers and honouring the nation’s veterans.
