Group Distributes Anti Mosquito Nets To Obio/Akpor Communities
A non-governmental organisation in Nigeria, Junior Chamber International Trans/Amadi in collaboration with Image Diagnosis and the Obio/Akpor Local Government Council has distributed 300 anti mosquito nets and four cartoons of coortem, anti-malaria drugs to four communities in Obio/Akpor.
The benefiting communities are, Rumuekini, Rumuosi Alakahia and Rumuigbo.
Speaking at the distribution exercise which took place at the Rumuekini health centre, the director, Anti-Malaria programme, Ministry of Health Dr (Mrs) Jumbo thanked the organisation for the exercise which according to her will impact positively on the lives of the people.
The director who was represented by Mr Demua urged for judicious use of the products.
In his welcome address, the Project Director Junior Chamber International Trans/Amadi, J C Henry Iredia said “that the Trans/Amadi chapter of the organiSation has joined the United Nations, Federal Republic of Nigeria and Rivers State in the fight against malaria.
According to him, it is the JCI, Trans/Amadi’s little way of contributing to society, especially with regards to the prevention, control and treatment of the endemic malaria disease.
Also speaking the representative of Image Diagnosis, Mr. Emmanuel Nwanod, urged mothers to carry out regular testing of their children for malaria parasite.
