Nigerians Dominate 2009 MTV Awards

The 2009 African Music Awards popularly known as the MAMA’s was held in Nairobi Kenya last weekend; the show was hosted by Wyclef Jean with special performance by Akon and other big time African artists.
It was gathered that MI and 2 Face confirmed their dominance of African Music Awards by clinching two awards each. D’Banj and P-Square also took home an award each. The winners at the event include:-
– Best Male – Nameless (Kenya)
– Best New Act – M .I (Nigeria)
– Best Rap – 2 Face (Nigeria)
– Best Hip hop -MI (Nigeria)
– Best Female –Amani (Kenya)
– Best Performer – Samini (Ghana)
– Best Group – P-Square (Nigeria)
– Best Alternative – Giroffe (Ghana)
– Best Video – HHP (S’Affrica)
– Artist of the year – D’ Banj (Nigeria)
