Anyansi Agwu, has said that two home losses within the space of three weeks is ‘worrisome’ but insists there is no need to panic, yet.
On Sunday, the Peoples Elephants were beaten 1-0 by upstarts Abia Warriors to follow their 1-2 reverse to Mali’s AS Real Bamako which cost them a place in the CAF Champions League group phase.
Anyansi said both losses were hard to swallow for a club of Enyimba’s stature.
“This is our second home loss in the space of three weeks. This is so worrisome. It’s a serious one,” he told newsmen.
“It was unfortunate. Very painful. I don’t even know what my response will be at this time.”
Anyansi insists however, that while it is not panic stations yet, senior club management will meet on Monday with the team’s coaches to find out what the problem is.
“Let’s try and see what we can do internally to correct anything that will be responsible for such a loss. We have not come to terms with this.
“Until we finish the meeting we are about to have, we can’t really point out the problem.
“But there is no need to start pressing panic buttons.
“If something goes wrong sometimes you sit around to talk. It is not a threat meeting. You don’t lose a match and move on. You want to ask questions and find out what you think may have gone wrong.
“We created 19 chances and didn’t score one against Abia Warriors. They only had two chances and they scored one of them.
“We were unlucky.”
