Chukwu Confident Sharks’ Will Do Well
The Assistant Coach of Sharks FC of Port Harcourt, Kenneth Chukwu, has expressed confidence that the present crop of players recruited by the club would be good enough to end this season’s Globacom Premier League season within the top bracket.
Chukwu, who made the statement over the weekend during an interview with Tidesports remarked that players of Sharks FC are in high spirit and equally responding to trainings.
He commended the Rivers State Sports Commissioner, Hon Boma Iyaye for his close supervision of the two state owned clubsides (Sharks and Dolphins FC). He however, prayed that efforts should be intensified towards ensuring that allowances owed the players were paid to enable them put in their utmost best during league matches.
“The Sharks team boosts of a sound technical coach in Kadiri Ikhana. Also the team is lucky to have a vociferous supporters clubs that is very ready to cheer her to victory both at home and away,” he noted.
Chuku however called on Rivers soccer fans to continue in their good work by thronging to the stadium to cheer Sharks to victory in the on-going 2009/2010 Globacom Premier league season.
It would be recalled that the Port Harcourt based Sharks team ended the last soccer season on the 9th position.
