Civil Servants Hold Thanksgiving, Dedication Service, Morrow
As part of efforts to reposition the Civil Service for effective service delivery, the Rivers State Civil Service will, on Thursday January 10, 2013, hold a New Year Thanksgiving/Dedication Service to handover the activities of the Civil Service to God for direction.
A statement signed by the Chairman of the Planning Committee, Barrister Rufus Godwin, who is also the Solicitor General/Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Justice, said the event, which is the third in the series, would hold at the Podium Block Car Park, in the State Secretariat Complex in Port Harcourt at 10.00am.
The statement further said that the event, which has the theme, ‘Work As Unto The Lord’, taken from Colossians 3:23, will have the State Governor, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi as the Special Guest of Honour while the Chairman of the Civil Service Commission, Sir Ngo Martyns-Yellowe will be the chairman of the occasion.
The Chairman, Rivers State branch of Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) and General Overseer, Royal House of Grace Church, Apostle Zilly Aggrey is expected to be the Guest Preacher at the occasion.
The statement requested all Permanent Secretaries and Heads of Extra-Ministerial Departments to mobilise their staff to attend the event which will be used to thank God for His bountiful blessings in 2012 and pray for continued blessings, guidance and wisdom to render efficient and effective service to the government and people of the state.
