Union President Commends NDDC On Staff Welfare
The National President, Amalgamated Union of Public Corporations, Civil Service Technical and Recreational Services Employees, Comrade Emmanuel Ajoku has described the policy thrust of the NDDC management on staff welfare as commendable.
Speaking when he led a team of the union’s officials on a visit to the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) Managing Director, Dr. Christian Oboh, the president attributed the success recorded so far by the board to the cordial relationship existing between the management and staff.
“We have been monitoring the activities of the Management and Board, the reports have been positive, we are not surprised because the work environment is cordial and friendly”, Comrade Ajoku declared.
He urged management not to relent in making workers’ welfare a top priority, because as he put it, “doing so will make service delivery more effective”.
Responding, the Managing Director of NDDC, Dr. Christian Oboh promised managements’ commitment to workers’ welfare saying “for those who know me, welfare of staff in any place that I find myself has always been paramount”.
He disclosed that management was prepared to champion the cause of staff provided it is reciprocated with dedication on their part.
“Here in NDDC, we are willing to do that. I have challenged my staff to come up with discussions about their welfare, but in return there must be performance”, he said.
