Uniport Graduate Wins TV Reality Show
A Theatre Arts graduate of the University of Port Harcourt, Miss Tomaru Etemo, has emerged winner of the 2011 Next Movie Reality star TV show competition.
Miss Eemo who hails from Bayelsa State beat 24 other contestants to emerge winner of the competition which took place in Lagos.
However, speaking in an exclusive interview with The Tide in Port Harcourt, Miss Eemo said that the event which is being organised by Digital Interactive Media has become a platform for talented people to showcase what they have.
She also said that the situation provided the opportunity for people to be connected to the nollywood industry, noting that the development has served as a welcome call for her and other people in the Niger Delta to wake up from their slumber and show the society what they have.
“This is more like a wakeup call for me because it does not ends here,” contending that with consistent prayers and hardwork, the sky is not even the limit of anyone in the Niger Delta. She also said that the event which has helped many young people across the West African sub-region can actually solved the hydra headed problem if unemployment in the Niger Delta is supported by the government.
Miss Etemo therefore stressed the need for governments in the region not only to domesticate the show in their respective states, but encourage their youths to participate both at the national and continental levels.
She used the occasion to thank the Governor of Rivers State Rt. Hon Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi for ensuring annual carnivals in the state.
