PH Subscribers Laud GSM Network Providers
Subscribers in Port
Harcourt have praised network providers over what they described as a step up in the telecommunication services.
Some of the telecoms users who spoke with The Tide Tuesday in Port Harcourt said the success story could be linked to the Nigerian Communications Commissions (NCC) threat to sanction any network provider found wanting.
According to one Miss Clara Opara-Oeha, there is a remarkable improvement now in network service unlike before.
She narrated how poor network providers operated around October last year, saying that more network providers should be disallowed in the country in order to maintain the present rate.
Opara-Oeha, argued that the poor network challenge was not unconnected with the presence of too many service providers, which according to her was only interested in profit making.
Another subscriber, Mr Tunde Adura, suggested a modern post service system as the permanent solution to improved network provision.
He said until the Federal Government and its agencies considered a world class postal system, that the alleged improved network would still drop due to the large number of subscribers using the system at the same time.
Adura, noted that if there was an upgraded postal service, that many Nigerians including himself, would fall back to the postal system.
On the delay associated with the post, he said that if attention was paid to it, a lot of improvement would be recorded in the industry.
He said the network providers do not deserve any commendation yet, until they maintain or improve on the present network system for a period of one year.
Mrs Bright Akpan, a telecom products dealer, reasoned that the improved network, could be part of the network providers’ market strategy to prepare for the yale tide sales.
\Meanwhile, she has called on all regulatory bodies in the nation to close-monitor the service providers to ensure that they do not relapse.
