RSG To Digititalise Own Media Outfits -Commissioner

The Rivers State Commissioner for Information and Communications, Warisenibo Joe Johnson, has stated that the state government led by Sir Siminalayi Fubara is really interested in seeing to it that the State media houses, which were once the cynosure of the listening and viewing audience in the State, and beyond, bounce back to limelight as they take back their pride of place.
Warisenibo Johnson who made the declaration at Rivers State Broadcasting Corporation and Rivers State Television, said that one of the ways for the media houses to bounce back is by going completely digital, and that the government will be ready to do the needful if it is sure there will be return on investment within the shortest possible time.
The information Commissioner, accompanied by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Barr. (Mrs.) Ibiwari Clapton-Ogolo, who was on fact finding visits to the media houses, commended the doggedness and tenacity of the management and staff of the different media houses in the face of daunting challenges and paucity of needed equipment and facilities.
Warisenibo Johnson urged all to continue to pray for the Governor and government of the State, expressing optimism that with the interest that the Governor has in even asking him to come for the visit is a confirmation that there will be light at the end of the tunnel.
In their separate welcome messages, the General Manager of Rivers State Broadcasting Corporation, Sir Sampson Fiberesima, and his counterpart of Rivers State Television, Dr. Ibisoye Fengesi, appreciated the welfare concerns of the state government towards the staff of the corporations, and indeed civil servants in the State, calling on the government to help the corporations with new equipment and facilities to enable them get back their share of the media space and turn in more than enough revenue which obsolete and archaic equipment has denied them over time.
The General Managers and managements of the various corporations took the Honourable Commissioner and his team round the various sections and departments of their corporations.
