PHACCIMA Gets New Consultant Soon
The Port Harcourt Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (PHACCIMA) says it plans to sack its consultantfor lack of focus and organisational ability.
Its President, Engr. Vincent Furo who disclosed this in an interview with The Tide at the Port Harcourt International Airport, Omagwa said the Chamber is in the process of recruiting a new consultant to plan this year’s trade fair in December.
He said: “We are working towards improving trade fair this year, so we plan to disengage our consultant for lack of focus and ability to organise trade fair”.
Furo re-affirmed PHACCIMA’s determination to ensure quality production and construction of goods but said it does not have the power or right to stop anyone from displaying goods at trade fair no matter the standard of such product.
On the war of words between former President of Nigeria, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo and Ibrahim Babangida, the PHACCIMA boss said “ “Both men are embarrsssing the nation and disgracing the people within and outside the world. The two leaders put us in a mess and connived to throw the country into poverty”.
According to him, “they need to be probed to give account of their stewardship during their regimes, pointing out that they did nothing on the issue of unemployment and hunger while there is money in the country”.
