Banigo Hails Technical Report On Norkpo/Ogu Boundary Dispute

The Rivers State Deputy Governor, Dr. Ipalibo Harry Banigo has urged the people of Norkpo Community in Tai and Ogu Community in Ogu/Bolo local government areas to continue to maintain the peace at all times.
Banigo stated this while receiving the Technical Report on the Norkpo and Ogu/Bolo Boundary Dispute at the Government House in Port Harcourt, yesterday.
The deputy governor, who said peace was very key to development, disclosed that Governor Nyesom Wike was very particular about communities living peacefully to engender growth and development.
“We advise the community members to maintain the peace they have signed up to in the past and ensure that they do not in any way cause friction or fracas that will affect people in that area”, Banigo added.
According to Banigo, the Rivers State Boundary Commission would deliberate on the report, after which, it would be sent to the State Chief Executive, Chief Nyesom Wike for further deliberation at the State Executive Council.
It would be recalled that the committee, which was chaired by Chief Silas Eneyo, had representatives from both communities, police, security services, Office of the Surveyor General and the Office of the Attorney General, amongst others.
