School Proprietor Wants NECO To Adopt CBT
The National Examina
tions Council (NECO), has been advised to migrate to the Computer Based Test (CBT) mode in order to enhance efficiency in the conduct of its examinations.
The Proprietor, Pre-Gift Academy, Chief John Ebom-Nworlu, stated this in an interview with newsmen Wednesday in Port Harcourt.
He said the migration would not only promote efficiency in NECO examinations, but would guarantee hard work among students.
Nworlu argued that since computer based examination pattern has become popular, it would not be proper for any academically sound institution to shy away from it.
According to him, the use of computer in exams should be encouraged among the students so as to enable them improve on their Internet knowledge.
The school proprietor, noted that it would be unfair for any student not to have knowledge about the conduct of electronic based examinations.
He explained that in foreign schools almost 90 per cent of their academic work is done via computer, saying that the analogue system must be discouraged.
He has also called on Nigeria students, especially those in primary and secondary schools to align themselves more with the ICT world.
The Political Science graduate, who stressed the importance of ICT in every sector of the economy, added that those with a better ICT ground would continue to lead in any organisation.
It would be recalled that NECO has said that it will not migrate to CBT for objective questions as planned until adequate facilities are put in place.
