Index, Capitalisation Rise As Transaction Ends Bullish
As the record of
Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) last Monday raised investors’ hope for a positive week transaction, All-Share Index (SI) and market capitalization made gains.
All-Share Index gained 342.06 points from 34,439.40 points that ended last week’s record to close at 34,781.46 points on this week’s opening market deals.
NSE also recorded market capitalization of N11.817 trillion from N11.697 trillion of exchange records on Friday, gaining N120 billion.
Investors traded a total of 4.721 million shares, valued at N100.81 million which exchanged hands in 218 deals.
The bullish start helped to reverse the negative overhang and left the market with a modest average year gain.
The gainers’ chart was led by Skye Bank which gained 21 kobo per share to close at N2.38 as against N2.17, followed by Forte Oil Plc which gained N15.77 per share to close at N189.00 per share compared to N173.28 per share.
Also, NEM Insurance Co (Nigerian) Plc, gained 6 kobo per share to close at 74 kobo per share, compared to 68 kobo traded on Friday.
Presco Plc, Diamond Bank and May and Baker Plc all made N2.55, 28 kobo and eight kobo gains per share, respectively, to close at N32.45, N4.65 and N1.68 per share, respectively, as against N30.00, N4.37 and N1.60 per share, traded on Friday, respectively.
On the other hand, Transex Pr lost 5 kobo per share to be at the fore front of the losers chart, closing at N1.01 as against N1.06 per share. Cap Oil Plc, Vono and Custodyins all lost N2.4 kobo and 17 kobo per share respectively, to close at N41.00, 90 kobo and N4.00 per share, respectively, as against N43.00, 94 kobo and N4.17 per share, respectively traded on Friday.
Vita Foam, WAPIC and Eterna Oil Plc also lost 14 kobo, 1 kobo and 5 kobo per share respectively to close at N6.24, 53 kobo and N2.65 per share, respectively as against N6.38, 54 kobo and N2.70 per share, respectively traded on Friday.
