Rivers Monarch Hails Fubara On S’ Court Victory …Lauds Tinubu Over Akawor’s Appointment
The paramount ruler of Egberu-Ndoki Kingdom in Oyigbo Local Government Area of Rivers State, Eze Boniface Ejikeme Akawor, has hailed Governor Siminalayi Fubara on the affirmation of his election victory by the Supreme Court, recently.
Speaking with journalists in his palace at Egberu-Ndoki on the affirmation of the victory by the apex court in favour of the Governor, Eze Akawor opined that the sequence of victories following the gubernatorial polls of March 18, 2023, from the Election Petitions Tribunal, the Appeal Court and, finally, the Supreme Court on Thursday, January 25, 2024, had proven that Sir Fubara was divinely chosen to govern Rivers State.
The monarch, while describing the Supreme Court verdict as just and fair, as well as, a victory for all Rivers people, urged all opposition candidates to accept the outcome in good faith and to respect the mandate overwhelmingly given to Governor Fubara by the electorate in the state.
The royal father pledged the continued support and cooperation of his subjects to the Governor Siminalayi Fubara-led administration to enable him to fully implement and realize his lofty Continuation and Consolidation Agenda programme for the state.
He commended the State Chief Executive for his numerous people-oriented on-going development projects and achievements so far within the past seven months on the saddle of Rivers State governance, such as, payment of pension and gratuities to retirees, the promotion of civil servants, among others.
He, therefore, enjoined all and sundry to join forces with the Governor and his team to move the state and its people forward now that the cases are laid to rest.
The royal father assured the state’s number one citizen of his unwavering support and loyalty to the administration for fruitful transformation results for posterity.
Meanwhile, Eze Boniface Akawor, has commended President Bola Tinubu and the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT),Chief Nyesom Wike, on the appointment of the immediate past chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Rivers State, Amb. Desmond Akawor, as a member of the Board of the Revenue Mobilization, Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC).
The traditional ruler said he was elated “over the recent appointment and swearing in of my brother and an illustrious Ndoki son and development-driven trailblazer, Amb. Desmond Akawor into the fold of the Revenue Mobilization and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC), Abuja as member”, describing the elevation as well deserved.

APC Unveils New NWC At National Convention
Delegates at the convention, held at the Eagle Square, also produced a new national working committee (NWC) through a consensus arrangement endorsed by stakeholders.
Dr Ben Nwoye was named deputy national chairman (south), replacing Mr Emma Eneukwu, following consultations within the party.
Sources within the party said the decision was influenced by zoning considerations and consultations among party leaders, with Mr Peter Mbah, Enugu State governor, playing a significant role in ensuring Dr Nwoye’s inclusion.
In his acceptance speech, Prof. Yilwatda said his re-election was a call to greater service and pledged commitment to unity within the ruling party.
“We are ready to serve, ready to lead, and we are ready to build the party, together with the nation,” he said.
He added that the new leadership would not “fail or falter” in carrying out its responsibilities.
President Bola Tinubu, Vice-President Kashim Shettima, governors, members of the national assembly, and other party leaders graced the convention.
