Organisation To Empower Educators, Schools With STEM Training
An edutech innovative organisation, Codefest International, says it is set to empower schools and educators in public and private schools with Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) training.
The Founder, Codefest International, Mr Moss Uromtah, told newsmen in Lagos that it was partnering with the Education Resource Center (ERC) in Abuja to promote STEM in schools.
Uromtah said the training was designed to empower educators and schools with STEM resources, and to showcase both indigenous and global innovative discoveries.
He noted that the empowerment would be across primary, secondary, and tertiary levels of education within Abuja and later to other parts of the country.
According to him, educators will be exposed to first-hand skills and credentials to turn their classrooms into laboratories for innovation, setting the pace for the 21st century.
“We are striving to grow the largest knowledge force, made up of an institution of passionate people with a common goal to make a significant contribution in STEM education and jobs of the future.
“Over 50,000 have been trained using our curriculum in STEM from basic schools to higher education; youths and working class”, he said.
Uromtah said during the training, there would be identification and appointment of 36 STEM advocates and ambassadors in each Nigerian state.
According to him, this effort was to align with the upcoming STEM Teachers Empowerment Project (STEP) inauguration to promote STEM in schools.
He, however, called for partnership and enrolment by schools to benefit from the training.
The Tide’s source reports that Codefest as an edutech innovative organisation is one of the pioneers of STEM initiatives in Nigeria since 2017.
