Rivers United Crew To Undergo Training – Green
Rivers State Commissioner for Sports, Barrister Christopher Green, has pledged to upgrade the technical crew of Rivers United FC that won the just concluded Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) by making them undergo training in philosophy and antics of football.
He stated that the club’s management would not sack any member of the crew, instead they will be motivated to do more.
Green said this in a radio programme monitored in Port Harcourt, saying that he was satisfied with the technical crew’s performance.
“The technical crew will be intact, of course, you cannot change a crew which has done very well. In fact ,I am satisfied with them.
“What we are going to do is to train them on the philosophies of the game of football but if that will not work, we will equally train them on antics. You know football is dynamic”, Green said.
According to him, Continental football competition is a different ball game, because there are lots of politics in CAF, adding that he will do his best when the time comes.
“I tell you, continental football competition is a different ball game. I know the politics in CAF, so I will do what I can, anyway, I am equal to the task”, he stated.
He further thanked the Governor of the State, Chief Nyesom Wike for his commitment and determination to sports development.
