LG Boss Seeks Residents’ Participation In CVR
The Chairman of Opobo/Nkoro Local Government Council, Hon Enyiada Cookey-Gam, has called on Opobo/Nkoro indigenes and residents who have attained the eligibility age of 18 years or above to actively participate in the ongoing Continuous Voters Registration exercise in the LGA.
Enyiada also emphasised that all those whose PVCs are damaged, those with incorrect PVC data, and those who have misplaced PVCs to visit the INEC office in the LGA and obtain new PVCs.
He also encouraged indigenes who registered at a polling unit outside the LGA to take advantage of this exercise to transfer to polling units within the LGA for government to properly capture and include everyone in the scheme of things.
He further encouraged his people to take advantage of the free Covid-19 vaccination exercise and get vaccinated against the dreaded Covid-19 pandemic, warning that the new wave of infections occasioned by the highly transmissible delta variant is rising in the state and country at large.
The Chairman made these statements through his Acting Chief Press Secretary, Mr Meshach Alaputa Jaja, after an important economic advancement meeting with his principal officers, in preparation to present his scorecard to the good people of Opobo/Nkoro LGA to mark the first 100 days of his administration in office.
Among a number of projects that will be unveiled at the ceremony include: the ongoing construction of Nkoro Police Station, construction of Senior Civil Servants Staff Quarter, Modern Army Security Post at the Opobo end of the Opobo/Nkoro axis of the Unity Road, completed, and planting of about 800 Royal Palm trees along the Opobo/Nkoro axis of the Ogoni-Andoni-Opobo/Nkoro Unity road, streets of Opobo town and the waterfront environment.
