Okrika Assembly Passes Confidence Vote On LG Boss
The Okrika Local Government Legislative Assembly in Rivers State has passed a vote of confidence on the council boss, Chief Philemon Iwoloma Kingoli.
Leader of the Okrika Legislative Assembly, Tamunobelema Emmanuel announced the confidence vote during plenary after a consensus agreement by all 12 ward councilors of the legislative House.
He said the vote of confidence followed a motion moved by one of the councillors and in recognition of the various development programmes and policies initiated by the Okrika council chairman.
“This vote of confidence is coming from the contributions of all councillors following the road projects, skills acquisition programme for human capital development,” among others in the area.
All 12 council lawmakers across the various wards voted in favour of the motion upon which the House leader made the pronouncement.
Responding to the confidence vote on him, the local government Chairman, Hon. Kingoli promised to do more to deliver democratic dividends to people of the area, adding that he was only replicating what Governor Nyesom Wike is doing in the state.
“A pat on the back for somebody who has done well invariably means you have to do more. You will agree with me that at the state level, our Governor, Nyesom Wike is working hand in hand with the legislature.
“So I am simply replicating it at the local government administration. The legislators in Okrika have seen transparency in my administration and that is why they deem it necessary to pass a vote of confidence on me,” the council boss stated.
