Commissioner Charges Youth On Leadership Role, Loyalty
The Cross River Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Comrade Asu Okang has charged youths in Cross River State to wake up to the call of leadership being entrusted upon them and to also shape themselves into the calibre of leaders that the people would be confident in, charging them to be adamant in their loyalty to ensure that Governor Ben Ayade is re-elected in 2019.
Speaking while addressing the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Youth leaders of the 18 Local Government Areas, during a courtesy call in his office, Comrade Okang stated that youths of the State owed themselves the obligation not to fail their peers and to prove to the proponents of the ‘Not too Young to Run Bill’ that the youth indeed were ready for leadership.
Comrade Okang encouraged youth to engage in intellectual activities capable of broadening their knowledge and increase their wisdom even as youths, as it would pave way for greater exploits and more achievements. He noted with displeasure however, the failure of youths to unite among themselves to achieve a common goal, stating that betrayal does not allow for a unified fronting in demanding for their rights.
Earlier, the Chairman, PDP Youth Leaders Forum and Youth Leader, Calabar Municipality Deacon Amos Offiong celebrated Governor Ben Ayade and Comrade Okang for the Youth Development Policies earmarked for the Cross River Youths, informing that the youths of the party are not happy being left behind and not carried along in these development policies to contribute their quota.
Deacon Offiong expressed appreciation over the policies of Governor Ben Ayade in changing the State from a Civil Service State to an Industrial hub that would absorb the teeming population of unemployed youth of the State, adding that they are ready to partner with the State Government to achieve this developmental feat, hence their visit to the number one youth of the State, who they are confident would relay their felicitations and appeal to Governor Ban Ayade.
