RSUST Establishes Language, Computer Laboratories …Matriculates 3,912
In a bid to maintain its lead
in the Information and Communications Technology (ITC) world, the Rivers State University of Science and Technology (RSUST), says it has established language laboratory at its Mass Communication Department.
The Acting Vice Chancellor of the institution, Prof Blessing C. Didia, said this at the 34th matriculation ceremony of the school, Wednesday, in Port Harcourt.
He hinted that it also has a computer laboratory in its Mathematics/Computer Science Department.
Didia, explained that the aim was to ensure that the school was ahead of others in ITC development.
According to him, there was no better option to remain in the e-learning system than to assist the existing ones.
He said his action was in line with Governor Nyesom Wike’s vision to turn the school to a world class institution.
Commenting on the e-library at the Law Faculty, he pointed out that such has earned it the best Law Faculty in Africa.
The Tide learnt that the Acting VC was planning big to digitalise all departments in the school in the nearest future.
Some students at the Mass Communication Department said it was a welcome development, saying the language laboratory would improve their academic performance.
They have also appealed to the VC to boost Radio UST so as to enable it meet up with the present broadcasting standard.
A total of 3,912 students matriculated at the RSUST’s 34th matriculation ceremony with over 1000 matriculants in the Faculty of Management sciences.
