Dep Gov Harps On Reading Culture
Rivers State Deputy Governor, Dr. Ipalibo Harry- Banigo, has identified lack of reading culture amongst the youth as one of the factors militating against the growth of quality education in the country.
The Deputy Governor stated this at the launching of a book titled, “Joy of the Believers- Excellent Grace and Mercy of God” in Port Harcourt.
Dr. Banigo, who was represented by her Senior Special Adviser on Legal Matters, Mr. Ishmael Blue-Jack, said the Nigerian society is facing the challenge of a non-reading population and therefore cannot fully harness the benefits of development.
She commended the author for writing an inspirational book that would be of immense value to generations yet unborn, adding that his exemplary life style has enabled him to attain a significant height in society today.
Dr. Banigo noted that the book has enough lessons that can shape morals and influence the life style of believers positively.
Chairman of the occasion, Sir M.N.K Tamuno, said knowledge of God brings joy to believers and urged Christians to live a life worthy of emulation.
In his welcome address, author of the book, Venerable Emmanuel Tamuno Siki Fiberesima, said he was inspired to write the book because of his passion towards believers who are faced with diverse needs and challenges in their Christian lives.
