Improved Network: NCC Set To Partner Cameroun’s Telecoms Board

cations Commission (NCC), has announced plans to partner with the Telecommunication Regulatory Board (TRB) of Cameroun on improved service and network between the two countries.
A statement by the NCC Director, Public Affairs, Mr. Tony Ojodo, on Monday, said that the partnership and signing of memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the two countries telecommunication agencies has come to formalise and concretize the ties that have characterised both countries relations.
The statement explained that NCC’s continuous, active participation and consistent involvements in the global and regional activities buttress the commission’s unrelenting commitment towards building a regulatory environment that is comparable to any regulatory institution anywhere in the world.
The NCC spokesman said that the astronomical growth in the country’s teledensity and subscriber base had contributed to the increase in direct and indirect employment opportunities achieved through a clear level playing field, transparent and participatory regulations and extensive stakeholders consultative process.
The statement added that NCC was pleased to partner with TRB of Cameroun in order to compare notes and share wealth of experience in telecommunications regulation with neighbouring countries.
NCC pledged its optimum cooperation, continued support and open access to the enormous knowledge base resources in telecommunications licensing, legal spectrum and numbering administration competition and Economic regulations. NCC further added that with the partnership and execution of the MoU between the two countries agencies both parties will take advantage of the opportunities that would unfold in the future.
The Director General of TRB, Monsieur Jean Lauis Beh Mengus, signed for Cameroun while the Executive Vice Chairman, NCC, Dr. Eugene Juwah, signed for Nigeria.
The signing took place at the corporate headquarters of NCC in Abuja on Monday.
