Clergy Harps On Benefits Of Labour
Christians have been
told to put their hope in God as their Labour would not be in vain.
Rev. Tammoyalls Somiari of St Martin’s Anglican Church, Ogu in Ogu/Bolo Local Government Area of Rivers State, made this remark at the funeral service for late Mrs Beauty Spencer Paul-Worika last Saturday, pointing out that there is reward for labour.
Rev. Somiari, who took the Sermon from 1st Corinthian Chapter 15 Verse 58 with title,” Accept Jesus Christ now,” urged the people to reflect on their lives now by being steadfast.
He admonished all Christians to know that Christ is the master, Saviour and ruler of their lives and urged the people to live responsibly by accepting Christ adding that all should trust and put their hearts on him for eternal salvation.
According to him, the death of Mrs Paul Worika, mother of Dr Alpheaus Paul-Worika, an Editor with The Tide Newspaper has created a vaccum, and charged the children to take solace on the fact that she had fulfilled her destiny.
Somiari prayed God to give the children the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
Earlier, Dr Paul-Worika thanked all for their support and presence and prayed God to bless and keep them.
Dignitaries from all walks of life including the senator, representing Rivers East Senatorial District, Chief George Thompson Sekibo, the NUJ, Rivers Council Chairman, Opaka Dokubo, the chairman, Nigeria Institute of Public Relations, Mr Toby graced the occasion.
