He lauded OPJON for taking the initiative to come together as that will chart new course in pursuing the welfare and advancement of journalists in Opobo kingdom and beyond.
Advising members to put the interest of Opobo ahead of any sectional interests, he cautioned against politicizing the stool of the Amayanabo, “We should extricate the Amayanabo institution in our politics, because that is the most cherished thing we have,” he warned.
The APC chief also canvassed for a united front to support any Opobo son who emerges as a governorship candidate in any of the parties.
In his address, President of OPJON, Henry Epelle, lamented that journalists from the area have been sidelined, as no one from the area is a serving press secretary in the state or local government and urged the APC spokesman to use his good office to reverse the trend.
