Christian Group Confers Award On RSNC Boss
The Church Manage
ment Support Ministry (CMS) in collaboration with South-South Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has conferred an award of excellence on the General Manager of Rivers State Newspaper Corporation (RSNC), Mr Celestine Ogolo for the effective use of his office in serving both God and humanity.
Speaking during the annual National Conference on Church Management at the conference hall of ministry of Justice Secretariat, in Port Harcourt, the President of Church Management Support Ministry (CMS), Dr Kayode Nissi said the choice of Mr Celestine Ogolo as a recipient was as a result of his contributions to the growth of the church and society.
He also added that Mr Ogolo had used his office in giving voice to the common man. He also noted that the award was a symbol of remembrance and challenge to continue to serve God and humanity.
Also speaking, Mr Celestine Ogolo, who was represented by Rev. Soye Young –Itiye expressed hope that through the conference, the church would take her rightful place in the country.
Speaking on the theme of the conference, “Nation Building Through Effective Kingdom Service” the chairman of the conference, Prof Alex Akpodiete said Christians should play active role in government like never before.
“if Christians want to make a change in the policy of the country, it is imperative that they take up political positions and also vote for credible leaders during the forthcoming elections,” he said.
