29 Ships Laden With Goods Arrive Lagos
Twenty nine ships laden
with containerised goods are expected to arrive the APM Terminals, Apapa, Lagos, between November 21 and December 22, the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) said last Friday in Lagos.
NPA in its daily publication – ‘Shipping Position’ – made available to newsmen, said that 13 other ships containing petroleum products were also expected to arrive the ports.
It stated that 16 ships would arrive with food items and eight others with steel products, general cargo, bulk clinkers and bulk fertilisers.
“The food items include bulk rice, fresh fish, crude palm oil, buck wheat and bulk sugar,’’ the publication stated.
It indicated that another ship would arrive with 410 used vehicles.
According to the document, 23 ships are discharging buck wheat, bulk coal, petrol, aviation fuel, kerosene, bulk gypsium, general cargo and fertiliser.
It stated that 16 other ships containing petroleum products and food items had arrived at the ports, waiting to berth.
The publication stated that 10 of the ships were waiting to discharge petrol, while four others would discharge diesel and kerosene.
It also indicated that six other ships were waiting to discharge buck wheat, bulk rice and bulk sugar.
