Exchange Market Capitalisation Dips By N72bn
The behaviour of traded
equities at the floor of the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) continued the downward movement even at the opening of the week’s transaction.
All the market indicators depreciated to put the week’s resumption on the negative note as market capitalisation lost N72 billion to close at N13.351 trillion, as against 13.423 trillion that closed the previous week’s transactions.
All Share Index also lost 267.41 points to close lower at 41,650.14 compared to 41,917.55 points reported by NSE after trading on Friday.
Investors last Monday traded a total of 355.167 million shares worth N3.823 billion in 5,575 deals, as against investor’s 486.982 million shares, valued at N6.150 billion that exchanged hands on Friday in 5,947 deals.
The volume of traded equities lost 131.815 million shares while the value of share also depreciated by N2.328 billion showcasing a poor opening for the week, as majority of last week’s transaction ended negatively.
