Women Group Advocates Revival Of Indigenous Culture

A group known as precious
daughters of Oduoha-Emohua, a Non Governmental organisation (NGO) in Rivers State, has called for the revival of the indigenous culture of the state through music ,drama, enlightenment campaigns and workshops, so as to beqeath on the younger generation a positive legacy instead of allowing them pursue foreign ways of life that are alien to the indigenous culture of the state.
The President of the group, Mrs Joyce Nkechinyere Oti stated this during the burial ceremony of a foremost Educationist and community leader, Late Chief E.W. Erinwo (JP) at Oduoha Emohua last weekend. She lauded the efforts of the present administration towards showcasing of the rich cultural heritage of Rivers people to the outside world through the annual cultural festival of the state popularly known as CARNIRIV.
Mrs Oti explained that the aim of the women group is to foster unity in the community, embark on community development projects, cater for the aged and less privileged in the community, organise health talks as well as sansitisation programmes on dangers of early marriage and moral decadence amongst young girls.
Also speaking one of the founding members of the association, Mrs Josephine Lumumba Wedeh condemned the moral decadence amongst young girls of nowadays.
She stressed that some of their immoral conducts are sources of disgrace to the women folk.
She called on parents to monitor the behaviour of their children especially the girls and to discipline them when they go astray. According to her, it is very wrong to spare the rod and spoil the child.
According to her, one of the aims of the precious daughters of Oduoha-Emohua is to correct this anomally, instill discipline and promote moral uprightness amongst the younger generation of girls who will become mothers of the society tomorrow.
Mrs Lumumba Wedeh also called on the community to support the upcoming cultural musicians as a means of reviving and showcasing the abundant cultural heritage of the community to the outside world in order to compliment government’s efforts.
She contended that the community was in the forefront as far as the Ikwerre Cultural music was concerned and produced great musicians like Eze Agala 1 of Ikwerre, Late james Abunonre Wizor aka Jimmy Conter and majority.

Reacting to the milestone, FilmOne described the moment as both surreal and communal, crediting audience loyalty for pushing the film to the top spot once again as the number-one movie of the weekend. And that sentiment feels accurate. This wasn’t just ticket sales; it was momentum.

Popular Nigerian music stars, Adekunle Kosoko, widely known as Adekunle Gold, and his wife, Simi, have become parents again this time to twins.

The award-winning singer shared the joyful update on his Snapchat story on Wednesday, confirming the expansion of their family.

“Asked God for another child and he blessed me double,” she wrote.

While the couple has not yet disclosed the gender of the newborns, the announcement has sparked an outpouring of warm wishes from admirers, fellow celebrities, and industry colleagues.

Speculation had intensified in December when Simi posted a video on Instagram accompanied by the caption, “From my baby, for my babies.”

The clip showed her with a growing baby bump, fueling anticipation that another child was on the way.

Their latest blessings arrive just weeks after Simi highlighted a scene from Adekunle Gold’s newly released music video, “My Love is the Same,” further stirring excitement among fans.

The Tide Entertainment reports that Adekunle Gold and Simi who tied the knot in 2019 after a long history of friendship and musical synergy remain one of Nigeria’s most admired entertainment power couples. Both artistes were once signed to X3M Music before soaring into mainstream acclaim.
