Corps Members Donate To Orphanage Home
Some members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in Cross River on Tuesday donated foodstuffs and other items to Virtuous Woman Orphanage Home, Ugep, Cross River. The items included two bags of rice, one carton of tomatoes, clothes and toiletries.
The corps members, who belong to the Community Development Service (CDS) Group on Charity, said the donation was part of their reach-out programme.
The President of the Group, Mr Maduabuchi Mba, said the visit was one of the ways through which the NYSC reached out to the needy and orphans, who needed help, love and care in the society.
A member of the group, Ms Chinyere Ogba, said the children needed care and support.
Members of the group, who were accompanied on the visit by an official of NYSC, Mr Effagha Effagha, thanked the children for receiving them.
The officer in-charge of the home, Mrs Catherine Arikpo thanked the group for its support and said the materials would add value and enrich the nutrition of the children.
” I am very happy that corps members in the state have shown love to the less privileged in the society,’’ she said.
