Omuma Drums Support For Amaechi
Omuma Support Group for Amaechi (OSGA), a non-governmental organisation, comprising the 11 Wards Coordinators in Omuma Local Government Area of Rivers State has said that it would continue to drum support for the Governor Chibuike Amaechi-led administration, following the recent political crisis rocking the state.
The leader of the group, Mr Nwalozie Ibeabuchi disclosed this during a solidarity visit to the Commissioner for Special Duties, Barr Dickson Umunakwe in his office, in Port Harcourt.
Ibeabuchi noted that their decision to stand by Governor Amaechi, was informed by the visible developmental strides recorded under his leadership, particularly in the areas of healthcare, education and road infrastructure development.
He enjoined the governor and his cabinet to remain steadfast as they believed that there would be light at the end of the tunnel.
Responding, Special Duties Commissioner, Barr Dickson Umunakwe, who was full of joy for their visit, commended their stand for the governor despite distractions and urged them to spread the gospel of peace as well as the good work done by Governor Amaechi in their various communities.
Barr Umunakwe while referring to the biblical story of Jesus in the face of a storm, prayed for peace to be still, emphasising the need for continuous prayers for the present administration.
He described the situation in the political terrain in the state as the handiwork of “enemies”, who are bent on causing confusion so as to distort the developmental strides of the present administration.
“Why will they because of their selfish ambition, want to destroy the good work of the Governor… what is the sin of Amaechi?”, he said.
The special duties boss, who expressed sadness that these “mischief makers” want to take the state back to the era of insecurity, expressed optimism that God would not allow them to succeed as the governor has always been a product of God’s grace, and urged the group to remain resolute.
