RSSDA Student Participates In 2012 Olympic Torch Relay
Rivers State and Nigeria played active role in the final lap of the 2012 Olympic torch relay as the torch arrived the United Kingdom, just before the commencement of the London Games.
The state got involved when a Rivers State Sustainable Development Agency, RSSDA student in the United Kingdom, Deborah Sunday had the rare privilege of being selected by her school, the Nottingham Trent University to carry the Olympic torch when it arrived the city.
The second year Economics, Banking and Finance major said, “this is a once in a life time opportunity and I feel elated to have been the one to touch this torch”.
The 2012 torch ended its journey when it was lit at the elaborate opening ceremony at the Olympics stadium last Friday.
