Rivers Civil Service To Reappraise Transformation Agenda
In line with the theme for this year’s Civil Service Week, Civil Servants in Rivers State will fully address the tenets of the present government’s transformation agenda.
A statement signed by the Chairman of the Central Planning Committee, Dr. George Nwolu, who is also the Permanent Secretary Ministry of Works indicates that a lecture on the subject would be presented by Dr Zeb Obipi, Head Department of Management Science of the Rivers State University of Science and Technology.
Also to be presented on the first day are two lectures on “Greater Port Harcourt City Development and the Civil Service” and “Security Challenges in contemporary Nigeria” two other lectures on Healthy Life-Style and the new Pension Scheme would also be presented on the second day.
A major highlight of the celebration would be the presentation of awards to five retired Permanent Secretaries and five retired Directors who showed outstanding dedication and resourcefulness while in service. Those to be honoured include Sir Anthony Ichoku JP, Mr. Mackenze Ighor; Erasmus Ikiroma-Owiye, Chief Hyacinth Oluo and Rev, Gladman E. Amadi, JP. Others are C.M. Idu; Rev Tamuno Donatus Rowlinson, Elder Richard Alamina, Chief Eric I. Edu, JP, and Dr. Mrs Boma Iyagba.
Meanwhile the finals of the Head of Service Football Competition will be between Ministry of Power and Ministry of sports at the Libration Stadium on Tuesday July 17, 2012 to mark the closing ceremony.
