The Wigan Athletic FC of England and Super Eagles attacker Victor Moses, has said that the team’s narrow win over the Brave Warriors of Namibia was not a true reflection of the match.

Moses told newsmen on Monday in Calabar, that the team’s total dominance of the encounter was marred by unpardonable misses by the attackers.

“Right from the start we out-smarted them and we should have scored more than the one goal we eventually scored but we lost a lot of chances,’’ he said.

He noted that in spite of the numerous misses, the Eagles were still able to smile home with the maximum three points at stake from the 2014 World Cup qualifying match.

“In spite of fluffing the chances that came our way, we eventually scored the much-needed goal in the second half to collect the maximum three points at stake,’’Moses said.

The fleet-footed attacker, who was eventually substituted in the second half of the match by Coach Stephen Keshi, admitted that his performance was below his usual level of performance in matches.

“No I didn’t have the best of my game. This is not the best of my game. In fact, this is my first time here playing for Nigeria.

“They didn’t give me the chance to score in the match today but there are still more games to come for me to perform better.

I don’t mind the position the manager played me, so wherever he plays me am happy to play, am happy to play there,’’ he said.

Meanwhile Ikechukwu Uche, the resilient Super Eagles striker who scored the winning goal for the team thanked God for the victory over the hard-fighting Namibians.

“The first thing is that when you are playing you have to have the belief that you can do it.

“Most especially, I had so many scoring chances in the first half but I didn’t relent I kept on trying until the goal came.
