The Rivers State Commissioner for Lands/Survey, Hon Ezemonye Ezekiel-Amadi, has announced the state government’s plan to introduce e-marketing and purchasing into the Ministry of Lands/Survey.
The commissioner said this during a public function in Port Harcourt recently.
He said the planned digital system will regulate the activities of fraudsters in land related matters in the state.
According to Ezekiel-Amadi, the electronic system of buying and selling land in the state, will promote healthy environment for those who may be willing to buy land in the state.
He regretted that the analogue days in the ministry discouraged a lot of business opportunities adding that the planned digital system will overhaul the entire ministry.
He explained how it will enhance orderliness in the system as only authorised persons/companies will be allowed to sell government’s lands.
The Lands/Survey Commissioner, said it will no longer be business as usual saying that the government will allow anyone found wanting to face the music.
Earlier, he had promised to introduce Information and Communication Technology (ICT) into all departments of the ministry in order to achieve the desired goal.
