Boko Haram: PFN Advocates Intensive Prayers
The President of Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), Rivers State chapter, Apostle Zilly Aggrey has advocated intensive prayers for God’s intervention in the insecurity perpetrated by the Boko Haram Islamic sect in the northern part of the country.
Speaking to The Tide in an interview at the Port Harcourt International Airport, Omagwa, Apostle Aggrey observed that it is only the intervention of God through prayers that members of the Boko Haram can have a change of heart and embrace peace.
The PFN president, who stressed the need for Nigerians, irrespective of religious sect, political leaning or ethnicity, to embrace a common agenda for the development of the country because as he said, the emergence of Goodluck Jonathan as president is the will of God.
“The election of President Jonathan is to the glory of God and for the betterment of the country”, explaining that he is holding the office in trust while it is the responsibility of all to pray and offer suggestions that would move the society to another level.
Condemning the alleged insinuation by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Governor against the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Aggrey noted that it was not the best approach to an issue such as the Islamic banking, pointing out that the best thing was dialogue in the interest of peace.
Reminding the CBN chief that Christianity and Islamic religious teach peace and love, he said CAN is not against the concept of their faith and stressed the need for Christians and Muslims to come together and live as one.
Aggrey who doubles as the chairman CAN in Rivers State said: “What the CBN Governor ought to do is to call all the religious leaders and explain the issue.
He prayed God to give the CBN chief and stakeholders in the financial institution the wisdom to perform their functions with the fear of God and service to humanity and the nation.
