World Customs Boss To Visit Nigeria
The Secretary-General of the World Customs Organisation, Mr Kunio Mikuriya, will begin a three-day visit to Nigeria to discuss promotion of international trade.
A statement issued on Monday by the Nigeria Customs Service said Mikuriya would seek audience with President Goodluck Jonathan and Finance Minister Olusegun Aganga.
It said Nigeria would have the opportunity of boosting the profile of the organisation through constructive engagement with the country’s policy makers.
The statement said further that the visit would afford the secretary-general the opportunity to relate with some stakeholders in Customs operations.
The visit, it added, would provide a platform for consolidating on the on-going process of developing a memorandum of understanding with the ECOWAS Commission.
