Sunshine Captain Attributes Defeat To Bad Luck
Sunshine Stars FC’s stand-in Captain, David Ariyo, says his side was unlucky not to pick a point against MFM FC in Lagos on Sunday.
The Owena Waves lost 1-0 to their hosts in the Southwest derby at the Soccer Temple despite creating numerous chances.
Dennis Obasi scored the only goal of the game in the 7th minute to hand the Olukoya Boys the advantage, while the visitors left the pitch thinking they could have achieved much better.
Waheed Adebayo, Yusuf Sadeeq and substitute Kolade Adeniji all had chances to level the game, but they all failed to find the back of the net.
Ariyo said the technical crew prepared the team for the match the best way they could, but luck played a huge part in the defeat.
“We feel bad because we really prepared well for this game and we were well motivated before coming for this game; the management tried.”
“We can see luck was just against us, but we will go back to the drawing board, the coach knows what to do before our next game, “ stated the player.
Sunshine Stars will host Lobi Stars at the Ondo State Sports Complex in Akure on Wednesday.
